Additional Information

Before you continue, please read the council's relevant guide for parents and carers which you can view or download from the Milton Keynes Council website on the School Admissions page.

Please note when entering your postcode you must leave a space between both parts, e.g. MK9 3HS

You do not need a UID number to make an application. Only pupils in years 2, 4, 6 and 8 currently known to Milton Keynes Council have been issued with a number.

  • Siblings - you must remember to include details of siblings when completing your application.  It is your responsiblity to include details of any siblings when completing your application.  the council cannot be responsible for omission of sibling details.  For admission purposes, a sibling is a brother or sister of whole or half blood or any other child (including an adopted child) who permanently resides at the same address and for whom the parent also has parental responsibility.  The majority of schools give higher priority to children who already have siblings in attendance.  You should check the admissions criteria and sibling definition for each school carefully when completing your application.  Siblings are always checked with the preferred school.

  • Moving home - if you move home into or within the Milton Keynes area during your child's last year at their infant, junior or primary school, you must let your child's school and the Admissions Team know as soon as possible.  You must apply by the application deadline and provide appropriate written proof that you will be resident in the catchment area by 1 September 2015.  If you move later the council will still need to scrutinise and accept the evidence of your move before the application for your child is treated as in-area from that date onwards.  For further information, please refer to the council's guide for parents and carers.

  • Free school meals - You should indicate on the application if your child is eligible for free school meals, particulary if you are expressing a preference for a Buckinghamshire grammar school.  This is because these schools have free school meal eligibility as one of their oversubscription criteria.

When applying for admission to school, parents / carers should apply to the local authority in which the child lives. To check for the appropriate local authority, please enter your child's postcode and click Check.
